Photogene. iPhone and iPad. $1.99 and $2.99. My first photo editing love affair is also the most professional set of editing and processing tools I have found yet for iPhone and iPad. Tools include crop and straighten, sharpen, a full set of color adjustments (including levels), exposure correction, many artistic filters such as sepia or posterize, and, just for fun, frames and text bubbles. You can add special effects such as reflection or vignette, and can access multiple leves of undo and redo, which I find VERY helpful. Resize photos to a different resolution, up to 5 mega-pixel. Upload edited photos to Facebook, Twitter, Flickr, email, or save it to the iPhone photo gallery. The iPad version maxes out at 21 mega-pixels and offers the ability to create Facebook albums. Photogene offers Pro features, including IPTC sets, an export indicator, and an export log. I have never gotten a bad result out of this app and it is the only photo editing app I use on the iPad.
